Government of Pakistan will provide all facilities to Chinese investors: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan wants to further promote friendly relations and economic cooperation with China, while there will be no compromise in the security of Chinese visitors working in Pakistan.

According to the statement issued by the media wing of the Prime Minister’s Office, a delegation led by Chairman Shanghai Electric Group Wu Li met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Thar Coal Block ‘One’ Power Generation Company Meng Donghai, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Owais Ahmed Laghari, Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Mossadegh Masood Malik, Deputy Chairman Planning Mohammad Jahanzeb Khan and senior officers of related institutions were present.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed regarding the various projects being run under the patronage of Shanghai Electric Group in Pakistan.

In the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s determination to further promote friendly relations and economic cooperation with China.

He said that the friendship between Pakistan and China is deeper than the seas and higher than the Himalayas, there will be no compromise in providing security for the Chinese companies operating in Pakistan and their employees.

The Prime Minister invited the Shanghai Electric Group to switch the country’s imported coal-fired power plants to local coal and further expand coal mining projects.

He said that the Government of Pakistan will provide all facilities to the Chinese investors to further expand the existing projects.

In the meeting, the delegation also briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of various projects so far.
