A batch of 11 tons of basic necessities was delivered, this Monday, in Menongue, to more than 3 thousand people from the Khoisan community living in eight municipalities of Cuando Cubango, in a government initiative, which aims to improve the diet of this minority group in the region.
These include goods such as rice, pasta, corn flour, vegetable oil, salt, used clothing, among others.
Speaking to the press, at the beginning of the process, the provincial director of the Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women office, Aida Rosalina Pedro, announced that the goods now made available will benefit the Khoisan community in the municipalities of Menongue, Mavinga, Nankova , Cuito Cuanavale, Calai, Cuangar, Dirico and Rivungo, with the exception of Cuchi.
Aida Rosalina Pedro reported that, in addition to the food component and assistance with other products, she also started another housing construction project for that ethnolinguistic group, to improve the housing conditions of that community.
It should be noted that the province of Cuando Cubango currently has more than 12 thousand people from the San community, also known as Kamussequeles, of which 3 thousand and 12 live in the municipality of Dirico, considered the location with the most people from this group.
