The development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) which has only reached 15% since the beginning of its construction has given rise to uncertainty regarding the assignment of ASN who will work there.

Chairman of the DPP of the Indonesian Policy Analysts Association (AAKI) Trubus Rahardiansyah said that the transfer of ASN is a separate and complicated problem. The government must not allow this uncertainty and continue to send ASN to the IKN by providing all facilities and solving problems faced by ASN there.

“The ASN issue is complicated. It would be better to keep sending ASN there. Because if this is not done, it will create international distrust, including for investment,” he said, Thursday (18/7).

Technically, the government has prepared everything to move ASN to the IKN. However, with the new 15% development, it will also cause obstacles that will definitely be faced by ASN who will serve there.

“The mapping is ready. But there are indeed many obstacles. So my suggestion is…

electronic-based first. So the ASN sent there are gradual and related to digital services only or the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE)”

The obstacles faced by ASN in the IKN include the psychological health of ASN. Trubus has also proposed to the government to provide advocacy regarding this matter.

“In their eyes, what is imagined is not the ease in carrying out their duties and functions but there is technical fear. So I propose that there is advocacy from psychology because there is depression there too. In the end, ASN will not perform there in the short term. And the service will be mediocre,” he said.
