Government establishes measures to formalize mining sector in Paso Yobai

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Vice Ministry of Mines and Energy announced the start of a regularization process for mineral processing service providers in the town of Paso Yobai, department of Guairá, known for its mining activity, especially in the extraction and processing of gold.

The measure, part of government efforts to formalize and optimize the mining sector, requires all operators of leaching ponds or tanks in the area to submit the new Service Provider Application Form (FPS).

According to MOPC Resolution No. 1424/2024, this form is mandatory and must be accompanied by the documentation required by Decree No. 1447/2024, which regulates mineral processing services for concession areas.

The FPS form is available at the Official website of the Vice Ministry of Mines and Energy and must be submitted to the Single Entry Desk of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications.

Authorities warn of possible sanctions for those who do not comply with this requirement, although a deadline for submission has not been specified.

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications thus seeks to guarantee legality, transparency and efficiency in the mining sector, urging all service providers to comply with this requirement. It is hoped that this measure will contribute to the formalization of the mining sector in Paraguay, improving its control and promoting its development.
