According to the Government, the products involved had an average rate of 11%; the focus is on those that are not manufactured in Brazil.

Second information from the Brazilian Internet Association (Abranet)in addition to Wi-Fi 6 routers, the measure also covers other IT items, which may include IP phones, touch-sensitive command centers, tables, reflectors, electrical installations, microphones, speakers, high-definition screens and cameras , remote control, among others.

The Gecex resolution also covers fiber terminals in the XGS-PON standard, which allows symmetric download and upload speeds of up to 10Gbps. In addition, switches, modems, sensors for agricultural solutions and screens for connected education were also contemplated.

It is worth mentioning that the routers mentioned in the resolution are not of the 6E standard, which is compatible with the 6GHz band made available for unlicensed use in Brazil by National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel).

With the reduction in import rates, it is expected that there will be an increase in the availability and adoption of this equipment in the Brazilian market. This should provide consumers with an enhanced connectivity experience, boosting internet usage and promoting technological innovation in the country.
