Al-Sudani also inspected, according to the statement, Al-Rasheed Camp, and was briefed on the camp and the extent of abuses in it, directing to hold a high-level meeting in order to reallocate the lands of Al-Rasheed Camp and transfer it to an investing company that presents a vision to develop it and turn it into a park and green space, and make it a resort for the people of Baghdad.
He also directed “to open a street towards the Zaafaraniya area within the project to remove traffic jams,” praising the efforts of the Municipality of Baghdad in the field of service projects. Stressing the citizens’ need for parks to be an outlet for them, in addition to their need for basic services.
He pointed to the misuse of state lands, under the pretext of investment, as investment residential complexes and malls spread in the center of Baghdad and caused traffic jams, directing to prevent the conversion of areas on the banks of the Tigris River that belong to some ministries into a place for waste, and ordered their development, starting from the Al-Kuraiyat area.
Al-Sudani stressed the importance of the private sector entering the project to develop the two banks of the river, provided that the restaurants and casinos, which will be established within specifications and designs, are characterized by aesthetics and simplicity, indicating that there are many engineering competencies capable of providing studies for models that implement our capabilities in the region of the two banks of the Tigris.
