Government delivers food to flood-affected families in Ñeembucú

Asunción, IP Agency.- Some 550 families, affected by the floods, from the municipalities of Tacuaras and Pilar in the department of Ñeembucú received this Sunday the food kits by the Central Government in coordination with the Government and municipalities.

The minister of the National Emergency Secretariat (SEN), Arsenio Zárate reported that in the municipality of Tacuaras there are around 200 families affected by the waters; while in the municipality of Pilar there are approximately 350.

In these two municipalities since yesterday they have been delivering nearly 700 food kits, which is what families have requested, he said.

He mentioned that in the municipality of Guazú Cuá, located 42 km from Pilar and 406 km from Asunción, there are around 450 families affected by the flood due to the large amount of rain that fell in a short time. He stated that tomorrow, Monday the 15th, the SEN with the Government will send them the supplies.

He explained that in this municipality currently you can only travel on horseback due to the poor conditions of the local road.

On the other hand, he pointed out that to avoid more flooding, Yacyretá will be in charge of cleaning the Guazú Cuá canal, which is all clogged. There are approximately 20 km of cleaning that the binational entity will be in charge of and the rest of the Government of Ñeembucú reported Zárate.
