As EL TIEMPO learned, for now the incoming members have to officially accept these candidacies and begin an induction process.

It is key to note that the composition of Nueva EPS is mixed, where half plus one of its shares are private, through the participation of compensation funds, and half minus one is state, through the Ministry of Finance.

When consulted by this newspaper, the Minister of Health, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo, assured that what they are looking for is to have people they completely trust in the face of the commitments they have as a Government.

“In the New EPS we have two members, out of five, and we consider it important to have a person who has all the capacity from a health point of view to be able to advance the work that must be done in the New EPS. The only thing we are doing is having people who are committed to this Government and who understand perfectly well what commitments we have,” Jaramillo highlighted.

The official, however, did not respond to the question of whether there will be changes in the management of the EPS and this medium was able to learn that for now, among the board of directors, there has been no talk of changes in the president or its Steering Committee.
