In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it has been decided to install live cameras in the offices and police stations of higher officials.
According to the media report, a meeting of the Board of Revenue was held under the chairmanship of the Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice (R) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, in which Patwar Khans, Tehsildars, ACs, DCs, DPOs, DSs from across the province were present. It was decided to install live cameras in P offices and police stations.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to complete the installation of cameras in all the above mentioned offices by the end of this month. In the meeting, it was also decided to establish a central cell for direct monitoring of these cameras. The caretaker chief minister directed that direct access to these cameras should be given to the chief minister, chief secretary and IGP offices through IP network.
He said that written orders should be issued today for the installation of cameras in these offices. Installation of cameras is very important to make all the affairs of these public service offices transparent. Apart from this, fire extinguishers should be installed in safe deposit boxes across the province to secure records and complaint redressal system should be activated for timely redressal of public complaints related to revenue matters.
The meeting reviewed the progress made so far on digitization of land records. The Caretaker Chief Minister expressed his anger over the delay in the completion of the Land Record Digitization project and directed the concerned authorities to take steps to complete the project by the end of this year.
