The Undersecretary of the Interior of Chile, Manuel Monsalve, has announced a formal request to the government of Venezuela for the expulsion of Venezuelan citizens through charter flights. During a supervision of a police checkpoint in the commune of Quinta Normal, Metropolitan region, Monsalve stated that the request has been made to expel 150 Venezuelan citizens, with the hope of obtaining a favorable response in the coming days.
“Today we have a request to the Venezuelan government for the expulsion of 150 citizens, for which we are asking to be authorized to transfer them on charter flights,” declared the Undersecretary of the Interior.
This action is framed in a context where Chilean authorities have shown concern regarding the increase in Venezuelan migration and have sought to implement measures to manage this situation effectively.

The Undersecretary of the Interior reiterated that a specific request has been submitted to the government of Venezuela, informing regarding a list of Venezuelan citizens who wish to be expelled, and authorization is being requested so that charter flights can enter Venezuelan airspace in order to carry out carry out these expulsions.
“We hope in the coming days to have a very specific response regarding this request we have made,” Monsalve concluded.
