Fribourg-Gottéron is in the semi-finals of the National League play-offs. The Dragons won 5-4 following extra time once morest Lausanne on Saturday in St-Léonard to win the series 4-1.
A goal scored by Killian Mottet following 18’12” of additional play allowed the Friborg residents to climb into the last four for the first time since… 2014. Since then, they have failed three times in the quarter-finals, also finding three times in play-out.
Harmless since the start of these play-offs, the Lausanne power-play nevertheless finally found the opening on Saturday evening. Twice even, thanks to Martin Gernat (24th, 2-2) and Lukas Frick, who gave his team the advantage a second time with an unstoppable wrist shot in the 44th (4-3).
