O Google Messages now allows the sending media in HD. The new feature arrives through an update, but it is still in the testing phase and the way it works is not far from other applications that also allow the user to choose the quality of the images and videos they are sending, such as WhatsApp.
As reported by SamMobilethe functionality is now available for cell phones with the Android system. This new option appears when the user is in a conversation window and tries to send an image. From there, a new menu will be displayed before sending the media.
In this case, the application is configured by default with the quality “Optimized for chat”, which is a lower level of quality, despite being (HD) described. The other option, in turn, is to send in the original quality of the media, marked as (HD+) and is the alternative that shows higher quality.

**Interview with Tech Expert Jane Doe on Google Messages’ New HD Feature**
**Interviewer:** Today, we’re speaking with Jane Doe, a tech expert, to discuss the recent update in Google Messages that allows users to control image quality in RCS chats. Jane, what are your thoughts on the new HD and HD+ quality settings for sent images?
**Jane Doe:** It’s a significant step forward for Google Messages. Users are increasingly reliant on messaging apps for sharing media, and having control over the image quality is a huge plus. It mirrors features already available in other apps, like WhatsApp, and adds a layer of personalization to the user experience.
**Interviewer:** Many users are familiar with WhatsApp’s image quality options. How do you think Google’s approach compares?
**Jane Doe:** While WhatsApp offers similar options, Google’s menu interface might provide a more intuitive experience for users who are not as tech-savvy. However, the default setting in Google Messages is “Optimized for chat,” which is lower quality. This could frustrate users who expect HD by default. People might prefer a more straightforward choice from the outset.
**Interviewer:** Given the choice between optimized and original quality, which option do you think most users will gravitate towards?
**Jane Doe:** I believe a considerable number of users will opt for the original quality (HD+) for important images they want to share, like photos taken during key moments. But the average user might not notice much of a difference when sending casual photos and may stick to the optimized option for quicker uploads and reduced data usage.
**Interviewer:** As this feature is still in the testing phase, do you think it’ll be widely embraced once fully rolled out?
**Jane Doe:** I think it has the potential to be very popular, especially for those who frequently share high-quality images. However, user habits are deeply ingrained, and whether they switch to Google Messages depends on their broader messaging needs and how satisfied they are with existing solutions.
**Interviewer:** That raises an interesting debate for our readers: Do you value image quality in your messaging apps? Would you switch from a well-established platform like WhatsApp to embrace Google Messages’ HD feature? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below!
