Google announces improvements to Chrome searches, new AI functions and more

Google has already announced that functions based on Gemini will arrive in Chrome in 2024, but other new features are now arriving in the browser.

Among them, the first promises to bring more agility to searches with suggestions displayed on Android and iOS automatically when tapping the search bar. This feature will even work when the connection is poor or in incognito mode, without the need for any data to be sent to Google to show recommendations.

The browser will also receive tab organization with AI; Artificial intelligence will automatically group those with similar subjects to make navigation easier when the tab bar is full.

As we can see below, Google search will also show images in search suggestions to make it more dynamic. Recommendations will be shown both in the home page search and in the address bar.

Going beyond autocomplete, Google will also suggest search topics based on your navigation, helping you find what you need before you even search for something.

This feature will still feature popular searches in your region on Google Chrome for desktop, but to activate it you need to log into your Google account.

The best thing is that these new features are less dependent on your connection, as the suggestions are loaded automatically when your internet is at a good speed or progressively in the background so as not to compromise your browsing thanks to new on-device processing capabilities added to the browser.
