That’s because, now, it can correct mistakes in your writing automatically and even complete words for you . It’s like using iOS 17’s autocomplete feature, only with your handwriting.
Spell check uses and abuses the Neural Engine of Apple chips to function and is available in English, Spanish, German and Dutch — while autocompletion can be used when writing in English. The Goodnotes developers, however, have already said that they intend to expand these features to more languages in the future.
Also, you can now quickly erase a mistake just by scribbling the stylus over the word in question, which is certainly faster than selecting the eraser tool manually. You can also select any element by drawing a circle around it and convert handwritten equations to typed text in seconds — new that will also come to Goodnotes 5.
