Goodbye WhatsApp groups! This is the new feature that will transform the app

After several months of Mark Zuckerberg announcing major changes in the world’s most popular instant messaging social network, WhatsApp, the application is testing a new Beta update in which some users can create a community.

So far, this feature is only available to some beta testers. As such, users who have this update can create a community by adding up to ten groups and what until now have been groups will be called “subgroups”, which will admit up to 512 participants.

“Members will be able to receive updates that are sent to the entire community and can easily organize smaller discussion groups on the topics that matter most to them,” they reported from the company.

Likewise, they added that WhatsApp communities give users the possibility of organizing and bring together related groups, which would be a great option for users.

“Community managers can send notices to members to communicate important updates; in turn, the members of the communities can stay connected, since they can search for groups that interest them and chat in them”.

For his part, Zuckerberg said that WhatsApp communities are designed to make it much easier to organize all your group chats and find information. In addition to this, other new features are also coming to WhatsApp groups, including reactions, sharing large files and group calls with a greater number of members. “We are going to start rolling this out slowly, but I expect this to be a major evolution for WhatsApp and online communication in general.”

Once you have said update, you must follow these to create a community:

  • Initially, WhatsApp should be opened, then touch the more options icon and enter the new community.
  • Next, you must enter the name, description and profile photo of the group to be created.
  • Next, touch the green arrow icon to add existing groups or create a new group.
  • When you have finished adding groups to the community, you must touch the green tick icon to finish the process.

In addition to this new function, he is working on the multi-device function, in which the app is working on a new personal chat, which would allow users to send messages and content to themselves within the application.

The WaBetaInfo portal revealed the novelty and pointed out that this arose following noticing that people resort to other ways to save tasks, messages, documents, songs, among other things.

According to the portal, users will no longer have to resort to other tricks to be able to send messages, since in the update the own telephone number is presented first in the agenda list.

Users will be able to access the feature across all linked devices and this will be done thanks to the new multi-device version they are working on.

Because the possibility of creating a personal chat is in the development phase, it is still unknown when it will reach the public, however, It is known that it will not take long, since applications such as Telegram already have it incorporated.
