The Yugoslav writer (she hated being called Croatian) remains unknown. Although a good part of her work has been translated in Spain and is accessible to the Argentine reader, her books have not yet aroused attention, something that must be promptly remedied. She emigrated first to Germany and then to the United States, she ended up arriving in the Netherlands, in whose capital she died on March 17. Her name has been mentioned several times in recent years as a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature, but her voice faded before reaching the highest literary award. Read more
