goodbye 2023, welcome 2024! – wienkonzert.com

2023-12-31 14:22:59

I would like to keep this year-end article very short, following all we all don’t have time – Wienkonzert turned 11 years old at the turn of the year and will probably continue to exist as long as you can type on keyboards. good? good!

looking back at 2023

The year 2023 was comparatively a less full concert year – just 63 concerts were visited, including three 3 sommer-festivals (best kept secret festival, lido sounds, grape festival) und 2 indoor-festivals (waves vienna festival, europavox festival).

the absolute ones highlights in 2023 of course they were festivals and the concerts seen there (dope lemon, oscar and the wolf, the 1975, peach pit, interpol, anna calvi, foals, moderate, king gizzard and the wizard lizard, shame) but also some individual concerts remained in the memory:

– „dekker“ in rhiz – so beautiful, so intimate!
– „panic at the disco“ in the Wiener Stadthalle – a farewell hymn concert!
– „peaches“ in the Vienna City Hall – Peaches was pretty naked and that was pretty exciting to see!
– the summer party from the bluebird festival with “can“ in the most beautiful part of the Augarten
– „feist“ in the gasometer – completely absorbing, intense, close!
– for “the national“Flied to Portugal (Porto and Lisbon) and took home a lot of wonderful concert experiences
– „the last dinner party“As the opening act for Hozier in the Wiener Stadthalle – I cried through the night because I love this band’s hymns!
– „from dawn to fall“ in the arena – the most beautiful reuinon concert of all time!
– „orbit“ in the flex cafe – the name says it all, I literally floated away because of the sound but also the light!

In addition to these highlights, there were also other highlights: There has been a monthly Vienna Concert newsletter since July 18, 2023! The best thing regarding it is that it’s short and sweet and offers real added value – sign up and see for yourself (here’s a sneak peek)! and there is another piece of news: Photographer and author Wiebke Krause has been at Wienkonzert since January 2023 and specializes primarily in the topics of her generation in their early twenties. Over the next few weeks you will find a few more articles hosted by Wiebke and can enjoy their stories and photo series!

And otherwise everything at the Vienna Concert was as usual: there was every Sunday concert previewsthere were a few spotlight reports to get to know artists better, and there were a few follow-up reports. In addition, selected articles were published on popular the social media profile shared: twitter (x), reddit, facebook and instagram. Wienkonzert has recently also been featured on threads and bluesky – but the recording will follow soon. Missing something should therefore be impossible in the future anyway.

preview of 2024

The top priority in the next few weeks: 2023 ready to pack into concert follow-up reports! and that will happen soon. The second priority and therefore the biggest change: The Vienna Concert website will be completely reprogrammed including a new design! It’s not entirely certain when this new design will go live, but you’ll find out soon enough. In any case, look forward to a website that leaves no concert wish unfulfilled!

look forward to Sundays too concert previewsdie spotlight-reports that follow-up reportsthe newsletter – and possibly this musicmonday. A master plan is currently being worked on!

By the way, there are already a few fixed concerts for 2024: Vienna Concert will be at least one taylor swift Attend the concert (the hype is real), that will be the case glastonbury festival visit England and who knows what will happen next. It’s all going to be very exciting and big!

But as always – don’t expect too much, but don’t expect nothing either. Wienkonzert.com will definitely stay with you and will try more than ever to be your lighthouse and guide for concerts in 2024!
