“Good sex” is the secret to Joe Biden’s long marriage, says new book – Jornal OPaís

President Joe Biden joked with aides that the key to a long, lasting marriage is “good sex,” according to a new book regarding first lady Jill Biden — which highlights their 47-year relationship.

‘American Woman – The Transformation of the Modern First Lady, from Hillary Clinton to Jill Biden’, is authored by New York Times White House correspondent Katie Rogers, and will be released this week.

According to Reuters, the part regarding sex occupies just a few paragraphs of the 276-page book, but it is already generating buzz. Rogers writes that Biden chose not to run for president in 2004 and that the head of state, now 81, told a group of supporters that year that he had little interest in running. “I prefer to stay at home and make love to my wife while my children sleep,” he reportedly said.

The comment drew a shrug from a spokesman at the time, who said then-Senator Biden was “frankly in love with his wife,” Rogers writes.

“Joe may have repressed his public statements to [e ao] winning the presidency, but he joked with advisors that ‘good sex’ is the key to a happy and lasting marriage”, it can also be read.

The book also describes the anguish that Joe Biden experienced when his first wife, Neilia, as well as his daughter Naomi, died in a car accident in 1972.

Joe and Jill got married in 1977, but it took five proposals from Biden for Jill to agree, the book also reveals.
