Good news for Vilnius residents – the heating season is starting: it has been announced in which districts the radiators will heat up first | Business

2024-2025 the season starts at 27 percent. at a lower heat price than in October last year, Vilnius City Municipality previously announced.

This month’s heat price in Vilnius is 5.83 ct/kWh without VAT, or 6.35 ct/kWh with VAT.

From the beginning of the announcement of the heating season, the heat will reach the homes of Vilnius residents gradually, depending on the district.

On the first to second days, the heating will be switched on in the micro-districts of Fabijoniškii, Šeškina, Pilaitė, Senamiesti, Šnipiškii, Karoliniškii, Lazdyni, New Vilnius, Baltupii and Grigiskii, the municipality announced.

On the second to third days – in the micro-districts of Antakalnis, Žirmūnai, Pashilaičiai, Viršuliškii, Justiniškii, Žvēryn, Naujamiestis, Kirtimi.

On the third to fourth days, the heating will reach the Paneriai, Naujininkai, Rasai, Vilkpėda and Verkiai microdistricts.

After the scheduled deadline has passed and you notice that the radiators are not heating up in the house, it is recommended to contact the companies servicing the internal heating systems of the house, i.e. house administrators or associations.

8 independent heat producers operate in the city of Vilnius. It is preliminarily estimated that this year in the structure of fuel used for heat production, 83 percent will consist of heat extracted from environmentally friendly energy sources – biofuel or waste. Therefore, only 17 percent should consist of natural gas, which helps ensure the heat demand in the city during the coldest days.

Historically, the start of the heating season has ranged from October 1st to October 22nd, and last year the heating season started on October 16th.
