Starting a successful farming business
Sharing regarding his guinea pig farming model, Mr. Chinh said that he has been in love with guinea pigs since 2020, when he was introduced by friends to visit the guinea pig farming model in Quang Ngai. Seeing that the foster model is quite easy to raise and quite suitable in his hometown, he boldly decided to return to start a business. In 2021, Mr. Chinh initially bought 100 seeds for trial farming in Dong Hoa village.
Mr. Chinh said that compared to other domestic animals, domesticated animals have very few diseases, are easy to care for, and have good resistance. After 6-7 months of growth and adoption, they can be paired for mating. The breeding time of the bats is very short, from mating to spawning is 45 days. When the foster mother is 45 days old, the adoptive mother is separated into a meat worm. After 3 months, livestock can be sold.
Sharing his experience of raising guinea pigs, Mr. Chinh said: In order to develop well, he must regularly clean and sanitize the barn. In the summer, mist should be sprayed, with an electric fan to cool the animals, in the winter, the barn must be airtight.
Diligent and diligent in research, Mr. Chinh has grasped the basic characteristics and techniques of purebred cattle. Although the rearing technique is quite simple, it needs to be really dedicated, spend a lot of time taking care of, and monitoring regularly. In particular, the separation of the cubs, the pairing of parents must be appropriate, to avoid disrupting the reproductive cycle of the mother.
Their food includes bamboo, corn, cassava, sugarcane, elephant grass…, all of which are easily available locally. The cages must be dry, not wet, to avoid diarrhea for the herd. Farmers need to regularly clean, handle waste and old food, keep the barn clean. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to two common diseases, which are intestinal and respiratory diseases in the herd.
Thanks to compliance with the process and regulations on breeding conditions, disease safety, and environmental sanitation, Chinh’s Doi breeding model has been granted a breeding license by the Ha Tinh Forest Protection Department. This is the first successful licensed forest animal farming model in Duc Tho district.
Income 300 million dong/year from foster care
After more than two years of starting a business, with many hardships and challenges, from the initial breeding pairs, until now, Mr. Chinh’s farm has a total of nearly 500 commercial and breeding bats. Each year, the mother gives birth to 2-4 litters, each litter gives birth to 2-3 children. Commercial products raised from 8-10 months can be sold with a weight of 1.2-2kg/head.
The selling price is from 500,000 VND – 600,000 VND/kg of meat and 1.4 – 2.2 million VND/pair, depending on weight. Calculating from selling seeds and commercial products, every year, minus expenses, Mr. Chinh earns more than 300 million VND.
This is the source of income that many farmers in the area desire. Not only earning for himself, he also created jobs for 5 local workers with a salary of 6 million VND per month.
Sharing regarding the upcoming plan, Mr. Chinh said: “In the coming time, I strive to multiply the herd to 2,000 bats to stabilize my income in the following years. In addition, I will share experiences and provide detailed instructions. If the fostering model is replicated in the commune, the first thing I will do is find out regarding the fostering process for those in need, in order to help people escape poverty and have a more stable life. stable consumption place for people”.
Mr. Nguyen Gia Chinh’s model of raising Dumplings is a new model in the locality. The effect from this model is opening up a new direction in animal husbandry of people in Tan Dan commune. The economic value from foster care is great, the cost of care is not much, and it does not pollute the environment, so the locality is encouraging people in the area to visit and learn from experience so that it can be replicated. raise income.
