Good deal – The LG 55B1 “4-star” television at €890.00 (-36%)

The LG 55B1, a 55-inch (140 cm) version of the LG 65B1 that we tested, is LG’s most affordable Oled TV with 100/120 Hz panel in 2021. Placed between the A1 model and its 60 Hz panel and the more efficient and bright C1, the LG B1 presents itself as a good compromise .

The LG 55B1 TV — 55-inch (140 cm) version of the LG 65B1 that we tested — displays very good image quality, but some details do not allow it to earn its fifth star. We think in particular of the peak of brightness a little more limited than on the other OLED models and a perfectible colorimetry in HDR. Competition is raging in the Oled segment and it is becoming more and more complicated to get out of the game. However, with its more aggressive price, this model can be interesting if we compare it to a brighter higher-end product.

Points forts

  • Image quality.
  • Fashion Filmmaker.
  • Infinite contrast.
  • Viewing angles.
  • Always performing α7 processor.
  • Efficient Oled Motion Pro system.
  • Responsiveness of Oled technology, excellent display delay.
  • Compatibilité HDMI 2.1 (VRR, ALLM, eARC), FreeSync et G-Sync.

Weak points

  • Remote not backlit.
  • Brightness peak in HDR mode set back compared to other OLED TVs.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude prices from shops whose the VAT policy is not clear (known as “grey” shops, typically in the case of imports from China).

An alternative

With its 48OLED806 — 48-inch (122 cm) version with feet different from the Philips 55OLED856 that we tested — Philips delivers a near-perfect TV that only misses the fifth star because of its slightly behind sound system. The image quality is excellent, whether in SDR or HDR. This year, Philips has particularly worked on reducing display lag and integrating HDMI 2.1, which make this television a versatile model that is suitable for both film and TV series enthusiasts and video game enthusiasts. . For originality, the Ambilight system remains just as impressive and above all exclusive to Philips models.
