After a meeting with President Lula, the Chief Minister of the Institutional Security Office (GSI), Gonçalves Dias, resigned this Wednesday (19).
The announcement comes following CNN Brasil released a video showing the head of the GSI inside the Planalto Palace during the coup invasions of January 8. It is the first casualty in the first echelon of the Lula government, shortly following completing 100 days.

In addition to Gonçalves Dias, GSI soldiers, who are responsible for the security of authorities and the Planalto, appear guiding the 8/1 terrorists.
President Lula called an emergency meeting to discuss the matter with ministers, in which the gavel was hammered on the general’s departure.
After the resignation, the Secretary of Communication of the Presidency of the Republic said that “there will be no impunity for those involved in the criminal acts of January 8”.
Earlier, the GSI released a note to try to explain the images released by CNN Brasil. The agency said it will investigate the behavior of the military personnel who were at the scene.
recordings
The images released at 3:58 pm show the head of the GSI walking close to the invaders. At one point, he circles close to the extremists and even greets them.
Around 4:29 pm, Dias walks alone on the floor and tries to open some doors. He then heads down the hall and into the presidential office. Minutes later, the minister appears in the same corridor, accompanied by invaders and appears to indicate the location for the stairs in the building. Shortly followingwards, members of the GSI appear and help with the orientation.
The new Lula government was already aware of the coup-like character that predominated within the GSI — a cabinet that was contaminated by allies of General Heleno in the last 4 years.
