THE Golkar PARTY has prepared Ridwan Kamil (RK) as a candidate for governor (bacalon) of West Java (Jabar) in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada). This has been determined by the party’s central leadership.
“Firstly, the RK feels like it is almost certainly being plotted in West Java. From the DPP, that’s the information I got,” said DPD Secretary of the DKI Golkar Party Basri Baco when confirmed, Friday (26/4).
Baco explained that previously, RK’s name was included in three people who had the opportunity to run in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada. The other two are Ahmed Zaki Iskandar and Erwin Aksa.
However, Erwin, who is a legislative candidate, is certain to go to Senayan. Thus, Baco said, it is very likely that Golkar will nominate Ahmed Zaki to fight in the political contestation in DKI Jakarta.
“So it is very likely that Zaki will still be the chairman (DPD Golkar DKI). Will DKI Jakarta number one (cawagub) or number two (cawagub) try to mix things up,” said Baco.
Meanwhile, Deputy General Chair of the Golkar Party, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, said that his political party is encouraging Ridwan Kamil to run in the 2024 West Java Regional Election. RK is considered more relevant in West Java than Jakarta.
“With all our calculations politically and developmentally in West Java, perhaps Mr. RK is more relevant and more useful for the people of West Java,” said Doli at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday (25/4). (Z-1)
