Golf News: Smith wins the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii with a record | Golf News

Australian professional golfer Cameron Smith triumphed at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii thanks to a record performance.

The 28-year-old from Brisbane finished the tournament with the lowest 72-hole result in the history of the US PGA Tour, beating a total of 34 below the course standard on the par-73 course in Kapalua.

Smith relegated the Spanish world number one Jon Rahm (-33) to second place. Third-placed Australian Matt Jones (-32) also stayed below the old record of Australian Ernie Els, who in 2003 also had 31 strokes under par in the final account in Kapalua.
