Mark Stone suffers from an upper body injury that will force him to miss a few weeks of play.
The Vegas Golden Knights forward was injured in the first period of Thursday’s game once morest the Florida Panthers.
He didn’t practice Friday and head coach Bruce Cassidy said he won’t face the Edmonton Oilers at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday (10 p.m. ET; CBC, SN, CITY, TVAS2 , ATTSN-RM, ESPN+, SN NOW).
“He was (at the training center) this morning and he had to do some more tests,” Cassidy said. He won’t play tomorrow. His absence will be counted in weeks, and we will reassess the situation when he is back on the ice. »

He had back surgery on May 19.
Cassidy wouldn’t say if Stone had a back injury.
“It’s the upper body,” he said. They still have to assess several elements. »
The Golden Knights (28-13-2) sit atop the Pacific Division, with a two-point lead over the Los Angeles Kings.
