Analysts said that gold, which is a safe haven for value during global crises, may rise to its highest levels ever if conditions in Ukraine worsen amid existing concerns regarding inflationary risks.

The price of palladium rose 1.5 percent to $3,226.46 an ounce, up 38 percent since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Russia is a major producer of palladium used in the automobile industry.

Spot silver prices rose 0.7% to $26.58 an ounce, following approaching a nine-month high on Tuesday. Platinum rose 1.5 percent to $1,170.76 an ounce.
