“Gold Necklace Theft: Women from Andhra Arrested in Private Bus – Cherthala Incident”

Cherthala: Women from Andhra who broke a gold necklace while traveling in a private bus were caught as the owner of the necklace with the help of female passengers and handed over to the police. Devi (39) and Siva (36) residing at Valav Door No. 13 in Tirupur Chettipalayam Kovil were arrested. With the help of bus passengers, Devaki (72), the owner of the necklace, caught the women who committed the theft and handed it over to the police. The incident related to the case took place in a private bus serviced from Kottayam to Cherthala on Saturday morning.

A shocking inspection at the cattle rearing center found 265 kg of ration wheat and 200 packets of wheat flour.

During the bus journey, the accused broke Devaki’s gold necklace at Kuppakat, Waranad. Devaki noticed the breaking of the necklace but did not immediately make a fuss. Devaki was telling the information to other passengers in the bus. Then both were caught with the help of passengers. The information was immediately reported to Cherthala police. The police reached the spot and arrested both of them. The accused who were produced in the court were remanded.
