Gold Close: Gold futures close at fresh three-week low weighing CPI inflation data

In the early morning of the 14th Beijing time in the financial world, New York gold futures prices closed at the lowest level in three weeks on Wednesday. Gold market investors are interpreting the latest US CPI inflation data.
Gold futures for December delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell $2.60, or regarding 0.1%, to close at $1,932.50 an ounce, the lowest closing price since August 22.
December silver futures prices fell 22 cents, or 0.9%, to close at $23.18 an ounce.
The U.S. consumer price index (CPI) released on Wednesday rose 0.6% month-on-month, the largest month-on-month increase in 14 months. Excluding energy and food price factors, the so-called core CPI rose 0.3% month-on-month in August.
