“Gold” at the European Throwing Cup, Jengo

Elina Jengo took first place at the European Throws Cup in Leiria, Portugal, sending her javelin 63.65m on her sixth attempt.

It was her fourth career best after her personal best of 65.81m from 2022, 65.40m and 63.96m from the same year.

Jengo started with 53.47m, went on to 61.78m and 57.30m, her fourth attempt was disqualified, followed with one at 58.36m and on her final shot sent the javelin at 63.65 meters.

Serbian Marija Vusenović was second with a performance of 60.65 m, while her compatriot, Adriana Vilagos, took third place with 59.83 m.

Aphrodite Maniou participated in the 2nd javelin group and took fourth place with a throw of 55.50m, with Sigrid Boge from Norway being first with 58.63m.

In the shot put and in Group B, Maria Magoulia was in eighth place with a throw of 14.39m, with Amanda Ngadou-Duba from France in first place with 15.98m.
