The start of the “Knights of the Will” career of the athletics team was decorated with colored medals and the playing of the UAE national anthem, on the first day of athletics competitions, within the third West Asian Paralympic Games, which is currently being held in Bahrain.
The “UAE Champions”, among the male and female athletes, won 21 colorful medals in the competitions on the first day, which were hosted by the Khalifa Sports City Stadium, with 5 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze medals, in the shot put, discus, 100 and 400 meters races, Next to a bronze medal in table tennis, and another bronze in boccia.
The total balance of the People of Determination team rose to 27 medals in all competitions, including 21 medals in athletics, 3 medals in boccia, and two medals in table tennis, compared to a medal in badminton.
The athletics team emerged at a good level on the first day of the competitions, following champion Sarah Al-Junaibi won the shot put gold in the “F33” category, and Al-Junaibi scored 846 points, and scored the best throw at a distance of 5.82 meters.
Ansaf Al-Nuaimi added the gold of the shot put in the “F34” category, and scored the best throw for a distance of 6.85 meters in the fifth attempt.
The hero, Ahmed Nawad, starred remarkably by crowning him with two gold medals in a row, the first in the 100-meter race in the “T34” category, ending the race in a time of 15.78 seconds, before the player himself added the gold in the 400-meter race in the “T34” category, following cutting the race. in 0.57.83 seconds.
The silver medals of the UAE forces were distributed among 9 players, and the list included Nora Al Ketbi, who ranked second in the shot put competitions category “F32”, following she scored 822 points, and Ahmed Al Hosani won silver shot put “F33”, and Abbad Khaled silver discus throw. “F37”, Rashid Al-Zyoudi, silver shot “F56”, and Siham Al-Rashidi, silver shot “F57”.
Yahya Al-Balushi won the silver in the 100-meter race in the T-46 category, ending the exciting race in 11.73 seconds, 6 seconds ahead of Omani Saif Al-Muqbali, who won the gold in first place.
Muhammad Al-Mazrouei won silver in the 100-meter race in the “T53” category, finishing the race in 16.23 seconds. “T54” in a time of 00.53.54 seconds.
Seven male and female athletes from the athletics team won the bronze medal in the first day’s competitions. The list included Mohammed Al Kaabi, who won bronze in the discus throw “F36”, Abdulaziz Al-Shukaili, bronze in the shot put “F33”, and Soraya Al-Zaabi, bronze in the shot put “F34”, Maryam Al Matrooshi, bronze discus throw, F46, Abdullah Msbahi, bronze shot putter, F54, Saeed Al Mahri, bronze shot putter, F57, in addition to Mohammed Al Mazrouei, who won bronze in the 400-meter race, T53 category, with a time of 00.58. 72 sec.
For her part, the champion Mona Mohamed added a new medal in the table tennis competitions by winning the third place bronze, which is the first coronation for the player in the West Asian competitions in her first official appearance, where she expressed her happiness at the coronation, and emphasized the great ambitions of better participants through which she aspires to win gold. On the other hand, Khaled Al-Marashda was crowned with the bronze boccia.

Our national wheelchair basketball team is chasing the bronze medal at the end of the game’s competition, when it faces the Oman national team in the fifth and final round tomorrow “Friday” at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium.
Our team is currently in third place in the general standings, with 4 points from three matches, while Kuwait leads with 8 points from 4 matches, compared to 5 for Saudi Arabia (runner-up), 4 points for Bahrain (fourth), and Oman is in the last place with 3 points.
The fourth round witnessed the victory of “leading” Kuwait over “host” Bahrain, with a score of 60-50, while Saudi Al-Menthab outperformed Oman 20-0, due to an administrative error by the Oman national team in not adhering to the required uniform colors.

The delegation of our national team participated in the reception dinner for the administrative delegations, which was invited by Sheikh Mohammed bin Daij Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, to celebrate the administrative delegations.
The administrative delegation of the People of Determination delegation participated in the celebration, along with the delegations of the West Asian Paralympic teams, members of the Executive Office of the West Asian Paralympic Federation, and in the presence of Juma Al Nuaimi, a member of the Board of Directors of the National Paralympic Committee, director of the mission.
The administrative delegation of our team includes Saif Al-Nuaimi, the administrator of the mission, Khalifa Hassan, the administrator of the strength and the Boccia, Abdulaziz Al-Hammadi, the basketball administrator, and Salha Al-Raisi, the administrator of the women’s mission.

The players of the mission, and the stars of the “Lifts of Strength” game, the Paralympic champion Muhammad Khamis, participated in the celebration of his birthday, which coincided with the current participation in the West Asian Paralympic Games.
