Since yesterday (3), people from Araçatuba are just 1 hour and 15 minutes away from Congonhas airport, in São Paulo. After a brief suspension of operations in the northwestern city of São Paulo, between May and June of this year, Gol Linhas Aéreas began operations in Araçatuba (ARU) with its own aircraft, the Boeing 737-Max 8 jets, with capacity for up to 186 passengers.
The Boeing 737 Max took off at 12:30 pm from Congonhas (G3 flight 1396) and landed at 1:30 pm at Dario Guarita state airport, in Araçatuba. At 3:50 pm the flight departed for São Paulo, G3 1397, landing at 5:05 pm at the central airport of the capital of São Paulo. The same schedules will be repeated from now on, three times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
For the return of the Boeing 737 to Araçatuba to become a reality, investments in infrastructure made by ASP, the airport’s concessionaire, were essential. Dario Lopes, CEO of Aeroportos Paulistas (ASP), says: “It is with great satisfaction that ASP receives the resumption of Gol operations with Boeing 737 aircraft in Araçatuba, an important advance for the connectivity of the region with the capital of São Paulo. To guarantee the opening of options like this, ASP is investing in fundamental actions, such as the evaluation of the support of the runway pavement, which proved the capacity of Dario Guarita Airport to safely serve aircraft the size of Boeing. We are honored to celebrate this partnership with Gol to increasingly improve the customer experience.”
