Sofia Goggia: “Not giving your all is an unbearable idea”
“When I went to school, I’d leave an hour early, we’d leave (with my mother) and go skiing. Then I’d come back and do my homework, but it’s always been something I’ve done with extreme joy. I’ve never been too easy in schoolI think that today things have changed a bit, state schools for example did not accept enrollment due to my absences, for example, in the last year of high school, I had to go to private school as a private student. If there’s one thing I live for in sport, it’s to win. Failure is not losing, you have to accept that someone is better than you. For me, losing is linked to not giving all of oneself, it is linked to mediocrity, to that standard of non-excellence. Not giving your all is an unbearable idea to live with. The the figure of the teacher in sport is fundamentalit’s not just a coach who teaches you a specific technical gesture, it’s a educator that makes you grow with certain values.
