A 66-year-old from Flachgau suffered injuries that required hospitalization on Sunday followingnoon following an argument in Ebensee (district of Gmunden/Upper Austria).

According to the police report, the 66-year-old, accompanied by another cyclist, turned off the old Ischlerstrasse in Ebensee at around 4:05 p.m. on Sunday in Ebensee onto the B145 in the direction of Bad Ischl and crossed the main road to get onto the cycle path.

A car driver driving behind the two men, a 50-year-old German, had to brake hard due to the turning maneuvers of the cyclists and activated the horn. The cyclist then insulted the driver of the car several times.

Since the 50-year-old did not want to put up with this or wanted to confront the cyclist, he turned into the bus stop area and got out of the car. Since the cyclist made no move to stop, the 50-year-old grabbed the 66-year-old shoulder, which caused him to fall and sustain injuries of unspecified degree. After receiving first aid from the Red Cross, the Flachgauer was taken to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Bad Ischl.
