He added, that the scientists studied the effect of watercress on blood lipid levels, and concluded that watercress was useful in lowering the proportion of fats and levels of harmful cholesterol (LDL) by a high percentage, as well as triglycerides.
And they reported that eating purslane in abundance has a positive effect on lipid levels because it is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins and flavonoids that destroy all toxic and dangerous cells in the body. The purslane plant is one of the best omega-3-rich vegetables, known for its many health benefits and anti-inflammatory properties, promoting brain health, reducing joint inflammation, and preventing heart disease and vascular disease, as well as preventing heart rhythm disturbances.
The purslane plant also contains high concentrations of antioxidant vitamins such as vitamin A, E and C, which contribute to reducing the risk of disease and reducing the chances of cancer, and also contribute to reducing aging.
The herb contains potassium, which contributes to regulating blood pressure, in addition to iron, which helps in the formation of hemoglobin, which is known for its role in transporting oxygen to all cells of the body.
