The research firm Canalys released today its latest data regarding the global personal smart audio marketreferring to the third quarter of 2023. Low (-3% in a year-to-year comparison), this sector had no less than 73% of your shipments represented by headphones TWS (True Wireless Stereo), like the AirPods.
According to the information, more developed markets such as North America and Europe were those that recorded the most significant drops (12% e 10%, respectively), although they still present robust numbers. This decline would have been caused, among other reasons, by the decision of most manufacturers to skip some annual launches in the premium segment, the big flagship in these regions.
Emerging regions, on the other hand, saw more encouraging numbers, with some in double digits. In China, the arrival of products with good audio quality at more accessible price ranges was the major catalyst for growth, after no less than five quarters of decline. A HUAWEIit is worth noting, it grew alone about 30% not last period.
Despite all this, the Apple remains firm and strong in leadership in this market, although it has retreated a little (-7%). With a market share of 21%the American company sent approximately 23.4 million of devices compared to 25.3 million in the third quarter of last year. These numbers, it is worth noting, also include devices from Beats by Dre.
In second place we have the South Korean Samsungcommon market share of 8% (-14%) e 9.2 million of devices shipped, followed by the Indian boAt com 6% of the sector (-1%) e 6.5 million of devices delivered. Close the Top 5 japanese Sonywith a slice of 5% (+11%) e 5.2 million of devices sold, and the Chinese Xiaomicom 4% from the market (+22%) e 4.3 million of shipments.
