Global Markets Update: London, Australia and Hong Kong Remain Closed, European Currency Rises Against the Dollar

The markets of London, Australia and Hong Kong in particular remained closed on Tuesday.

The European currency advanced 0.26% once morest the greenback to 1.1037 dollars per euro.

The dollar index, which compares the greenback to a basket of currencies, fell 0.16% to 101.53 points.

Investors are still betting on a reduction in key rates from the American central bank in 2024, with a majority of them (71%) being convinced that the Fed will loosen monetary policy at its March meeting.

Few economic data are expected in the United States this week, apart from weekly applications for unemployment benefits on Thursday.

On the bond market, ten-year yields on Treasury bills were stable at 3.89% around 7:20 p.m. GMT.

Bitcoin lost 3% to 42,214 points in a market where the lack of trading volumes accentuated the differences.
