From Russia to Peau d’âne via Marilyn Monroe and the South Pole, the new season of the Théâtre populaire romand will take spectators on a journey around the globe and through time. A total of 25 shows and concerts are scheduled in La Chaux-de-Fonds from September 2023 to June 2024. The Carmen show will open on September 19 at Blue Hour with a re-reading of Georges Bizet’s opera. The Franco-American singer of the Moriarty group, Rosemary Standley, plays the title role. At the end of November, Beau-Site will welcome an exiled Russian troupe with a documentary show called We are no longer. The director Tatiana Frolova recounts their escape from Russia. This show, which is performed in Russian, will be subtitled in French using screens on the sides of the stage. For the director of the TPR, Anne Bisang, offering several shows in the original version during the season is essential. In the play, the two actresses confide in sexism and the lack of power of women in Hollywood.

A little crush from the director, On the lookout for La Chaux-de-Fonnière Juliette Vernerey will have as its theme the exploration of Antarctica, reconnection with the non-human and ecology. In April 2024, the public will discover this burlesque fable which questions the impact of humans, wherever they go.
