Egypt – The first Egypt International Aviation and Space Exhibition, which kicked off yesterday, Wednesday, in the city of El Alamein, western Egypt, witnessed wide participation from 100 countries, including Turkey.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated, on Wednesday, the activities of the Egypt International Aviation and Space Exhibition 2024, in its first edition, which will continue for three days, at El Alamein International Airport.
According to official information reported by the Egyptian News Agency, 300 companies and entities from aircraft manufacturers and space industries around the world, representing more than 100 countries, are participating in the exhibition, in addition to representatives of many international and regional organizations in the field of aviation and space industry.
The largest exhibition in Africa and the Middle East in the field of aviation, defense and space aims to support the manufacturing and digitization system in the aviation, defense and space sectors, according to the same source.
The exhibition also serves as “an international platform for the aviation industry and space agencies to discuss achievements in space exploration, satellite communications, and civil and military applications of space technology.”
During the exhibition, the two Egyptian armored vehicles, ST100 and ST500, appeared for the first time, according to information reported by the Egyptian News Agency. They are “produced by the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production, within Military Factory 200, and are resistant to mines and ambushes.”
The two armored vehicles come in a “foreign partnership, with a local component of about 50 percent, while the design, assembly, and implementation are 100 percent Egyptian, in addition to the electronics and the remote-controlled combat turret.”
On Monday, the Turkish training aircraft “Hurjet” arrived in Egypt as part of the participation of the Turkish Aerospace Industries Company “TUSAŞ” in the Egypt International Aviation and Space Show, according to a statement by the company.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, international aviation teams will present air shows, and the Turkish “Hurjet” aircraft is expected to fly over the Egyptian pyramids on the last day of the exhibition.
