Glistening Exteriors: The Allure of Elite Fashion Award Ceremonies

After two years of Corona restrictions, the Lux Style Awards held in Lahore on Thursday was robbed by the film ‘Khel Khel Mein’.

The film won four awards in the film category, including Best Film, Best Song (Nai Souch), Best Actor (Bilal Abbas) and Best Actress (Sajal Ali).

The TV drama had a total of 11 categories this time with some new categories added.

Among them, ‘Rangmahal’ and ‘Dil Ushpada To Nai’ were awarded in the Best Long Duration Drama and Best ‘Ensemble’ Drama category respectively.

In the TV drama, ‘Preezaad’ and ‘Raqeeb Se’ won three awards each. The best director award was given to Kashif Nisar for the drama ‘Raqeeb Se’.

The best actress award for public choice went to Ayeza Khan for ‘Chipke Chipke’ while the jury declared it rightful for Hadiqa Kayani for the drama ‘Raqeeb Se’.

Raqib Se is Hadiqa Kayani’s first drama as an actor. This time the honor of the best debut went to him.

The jury award in the best actor category was given to Ahmed Ali Akbar for the lead role in the drama serial ‘Parizad’.

The same public opinion award went to Feroze Khan for ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbate‘.

The unprecedented success ‘Parizaad’ was declared the best drama while its writer Hashim Nadeem also took home the award.

The award for Best Drama Soundtrack went to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbate’.

This year’s best singer award went to Ali Zafar, whose three songs ‘Paharad ki Kaas’, ‘Pahli Si Mohabbate’ and ‘Bulgh-ul-Ala Bakmala’ were nominated.

The best song of this year was Young Stunners’ Akhena. Natasha Baig also managed to win the first award of her life which was given to her for best live singing at Lahoreti Melo 2021.

The best music producer award went to Abdullah Siddiqui.

This year’s new category of best young singer award was given to Khawaja Danish Saleem.

The most remarkable thing in the 21st Lux Style Awards was the special invitation to the renowned actress of Pakistani films, Anjuman, and the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.

Anjuman’s fame has been as an action heroine in Punjabi films. He worked in films for almost more than 20 years and left his quirky style behind.

Several famous Punjabi songs of Queen Tarnam Noor Jahan were filmed on him. Humima Malik paid tribute to the association by performing a dance on one of their popular songs ‘Sone Diya Kangana, Sauda Aku Jaya’.

Humima left her own style and adopted Anjuman’s style so well that she could do anything. By the way, the lack of Humima’s thumkas in Maula Jat has been completed here.

The Changemaker Award was posthumously awarded to Nazia Hasan, who presented a beautiful blend of eastern and western music in Pakistan.

On this occasion, a video message of his brother Zohaib Hassan was broadcast.

As per the time written on the invitation card of the awards, the formal ceremony started at 10:00 PM and ended at 1:30 PM. According to the Lux Style Award, it was early, otherwise it has taken five hours many times.

Baloch singer and musician Abdul Wahab Bugti and Shahzad Rai started the event by presenting the lyrics of the national anthem in a unique way.

The National Anthem presented only with the help of traditional instruments left a good impression, especially Abdul Wahab Bugti’s Balochi accent was excellent.

If anyone was the host of the event, it was Tabish Hashmi, whose bold, witty, witty and witty sentences wrapped in light humor befitting the occasion made the event a saffron battle.

Although the event was hosted by Fahad Mustafa and Dananir Mubeen and later Usman Khalid Butt and Mansha Pasha contributed, surprisingly Fahad Mustafa did not make much of an impact.

It is better not to talk about the hosting of Usman Khalid Butt and Daneer, although there was hope from Mansha, but this year also she was only the reason for the increase in glamor on the stage.

Talking about the performances, which are always the highlight of award shows, Ali Zafar’s dance with Gul Panda and Abid Brohi on his own songs in different regional languages set the tone and set the tone.

The songs of Sindhi and Pashto languages spread the colors of the music.

The other best performance of the night was that of Amar Khan, who performed a tribute to Nazia Hassan on her song ‘Aau Na Pyaar Kareen’ in his semaphi style.

However, it is not understood why Kunza Hashmi and Usman Khalid Butt were included along with excellent dancers like Amar Khan. Due to both of them, the color got burnt.

The highlight of Asim Azhar’s performance on ‘Meri Jaan’ was his presentation of flowers to his fiancee Meerab Ali sitting in the front row at the end.

Urwa Hussain and Usman Khalid Butt’s dance performance on Nazia Hasan’s song ‘Disco Deewane’ could have been much better.

This song has appeared at the Lux Awards many times before, but this time it was not quite impressive.

Urwa has never performed well on stage and this time too she couldn’t do any good.

A surprising thing at this year’s awards was the absence of big names from Pakistan. Neither Sajal Ali nor Bilal Abbas were among the award winners. Hadiqa Kayani, who received two awards, was also absent.

Hashim Nadeem was not the author of Parizaad either. Fiza Ali Mirza was also absent for Best Film.

Absence of award winners makes such a ceremony dull and dull.

Apart from this, many nominees were also not present at the ceremony and were not nominated, such awards night was marred by the absence of many famous actresses including Mehwish Hayat, Mahira Khan, Maya Ali, Kabra Khan from the red carpet.

And the stage remained dull.

Among the male actors, many big names including Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Khan, Faisal Qureshi, Shehryar Manwar, Mikail Zulfikar and Bilal Ashraf were absent. All of them were sorely missed.
Remember, the glitz, glamor and stardom of Lux Style Awards held in Karachi in 2019 is still remembered today.
Then in 2020 the awards were held without guests and media due to the Corona epidemic, in 2021 the awards were held with limited guests due to the pandemic.
This time it was hoped that the ceremony would be held with full atmosphere. The atmosphere, sets and other equipment were perfect, but just as pollution has made hundreds of stars scattered in the sky disappear, something like that happened with these awards.
The fashion awards this year held a single male and female model category in which the best model award was given to Nimra Jacob.
Fauzia Aman was named the style icon of the year. Sunil Nawaz received the award for hair and make-up, Yasir Dar in the new category stylist and Ashna Khan in the category of photography.
Following the reaction on social media to actor Feroze Khan after receiving the award, the management of the awards said that they are sent names by channels and then it is a public choice category, in which nominations are made based on public opinion and awards are given based on that. go
Lux Awards spokesperson Farishte Aslam says that they never interfere in the process. The award is given to the actor chosen by the people through voting.
