Gladiadores de Anzoátegui will face Héroes de Falcón in what will be the first round of the postseason of the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB) 2024.
La Armadura, the team that finished first in Group 1 with the best record in the regular round (22 wins and two losses), will face a Falconian team that finished fifth in Group 2, but had to fight for its place in the playoffs once morest Gaiteros del Zulia (sixth), in the “play-in” duel.
The first clash between the eastern and western teams will be next Thursday, July 25, at the Luis Ramos gymnasium on the Barcelona-Puerto La Cruz axis. A day later, they will face each other in the same venue, and then the series will move to Falcón.
The tie, whose winner will be the first quintet to win four awards, will be moved to the Fanelón Díaz gymnasium in Punto Fijo. The first two challenges will be on July 30 and 31 and, if necessary, a third match will be played on August 2.
If circumstances warrant, the match will return to the north of the state of Anzoátegui for the hypothetical sixth and seventh games, to be held on August 4 and 5.
Favorites
Gladiadores, the current SPB champion, is the big favorite in the series. Their 22-2 record contrasts markedly with Heroes’ 13-11 record, but they will have to reaffirm that on the court if they want to stay in the fight to defend the crown they won in 2023.
