Gladiators of Anzoátegui crushed Heroes of Falcón at the start of the postseason series of the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB) 2024.
La Armadura won with a score of 85-61 at the Luis Ramos gymnasium on the Barcelona-Puerto La Cruz axis, against a western team that put up little resistance and was down by as many as 36 points.
Total dominance
Ronald Guillén’s team led from start to finish in the first challenge of the group, where the first team to reach four wins will qualify.
Anzoátegui’s dominance was so noticeable that coach Guillén was able to give time on the court to his 12 available players. The one who was on the court the least was Jesús López with 57 seconds, while José Materán was the most active with 26 minutes and 58 seconds.
Outstanding career
Michael Carrera was one of the most outstanding players in the victory of the Anzoategui team. He contributed 15 points and eight rebounds.
Imports Paul Jackson and Adonys Henríquez also performed well. They added 17 and 12 points, respectively. Jackson added four assists and Henríquez five rebounds and four steals.
Gladiators and Heroes will face each other again this Thursday, July 25th, at the Portocruz bullring.
