Gladiadores de Anzoátegui defeated Héroes de Falcón this Tuesday with a score of 84-77 and completed the sweep in this postseason series of the 2024 Professional Basketball Super League (SPB).

La Armadura dominated the Group A match of the intergroup phase of the competition and is the first team to secure its presence in the next round. On the other hand, the Falconians were eliminated.

In Tuesday’s match, played at the Fanelón Díaz gymnasium in Punto Fijo, Ronald Guillén’s team had to come from behind to take the win. Just like on Monday, the local quintet took the lead by winning the first quarter, but the visitors adjusted in the development of the match to get the victory.

Top scorers

Michael Carrera and Gregory Vargas were once again the standouts in the eastern conquest. The Barcelona native recorded a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds, while the captain finished with 22 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Now Gladiators must wait for the outcome of the other four series of this intergroup phase of the SPB to find out who their next opponent will be on a path that has as its main objective to revalidate the title obtained in 2023.
