Gladiadores de Anzoátegui closed the Super Round of the 2024 Professional Basketball Super League (SPB) with a victory over Cocodrilos de Caracas. However, Guaiqueríes de Margarita also emerged victorious in its duel against Marinos de Oriente, earning the right to have the grand finale start on island soil.

La Armadura defeated the Saurian quintet with a score of 97-78 at the José Beracasa gymnasium in the United Nations Park (PNU), in Caracas. In turn, La Tribu defeated the Eastern Battleship 90-75, at the Rutaca Sport Arena in Maturín, Monagas state.

In this way, both finalists have the same balance of 14 points thanks to six victories and two defeats. However, the Margarita team has the advantage of being at home at the start of the decisive stage because it dominated the direct confrontation against those led by Ronald Guillén.

Dominican Adonys Henríquez was the most outstanding player in the Anzoátegui laurel in the capital of the country. The imported player registered 15 points, three assists and two rebounds.

Grand finale

The SPB board is expected to announce the schedule for this unprecedented final in Venezuelan basketball in the next few hours. The draft of reinforcements must also be carried out beforehand, the order of selection of which will be according to the standings of the round-robin.

The truth of the matter is that it promises to be a tough battle for the 2024 season title. Gladiadores will have to play as close to perfection as possible to achieve the long-awaited second championship, since Guaiqueríes is so far the most difficult rival they have faced, to the point that they do not know victory against them in two challenges.
