MultiVersus continues to expand its cast of characters. While we expected to see Rick arrive to accompany Morty’s release and the start of the new season of Rick and Morty, it is not. The official Twitter account confirms the arrival of Gizmofrom Tuesday.
Gizmo is a mogwai, a small creature from which Gremlins from the film of the same name. This ball of fur with big ears is very friendly, at least as long as certain rules are respected. It dies if exposed to the sun. It multiplies if it gets wet. She turns into a gremlin, a chaotic and violent monster, if fed after midnight.
Gizmo and Stripe, one and the same character?
We already knew that Stripethe leader of the Gremlins was going to join MultiVersus in season 1. While many points suggested that Gizmo and Stripe would be one and the same character and that one will transform into the other during the fight, this does not will not be the case.
It is however a classic mechanic of this type of game since Zelda is able to transform into Sheik in Super Smash Bros Melee. In the movies, however, Gizmo and Stripe are two very different entities.
Seeing Gizmo arrive isn’t all that surprising, since sound files already seemed to hint at his presence in the game in some way. during an interview where Tony Huynh was asked about Stripe, the developer was already referring to the Gizmo character.
Gizmo will therefore arrive on Tuesday, with the arrival of the huge patch which should rebalance most of the characters, but above all finally correct the very many hitbox problems present in the game since its launch.
