After a period of escaping outside the country and returning again, the Giza Investigation succeeded in arresting the owner of the “Build Your House With Your Own Hands” project after seizing sums of money amounting to 2 billion and 500 thousand pounds from thousands of citizens.
Investigations under the supervision of Major General Muhammad al-Sharqawi, Director of the General Department of Investigations, revealed that information had been received about the frequency of Mahmoud Abdel Shafi, the owner of the “Build Your House With Your Hands” project, who is fleeing from several court rulings on charges of defrauding a real estate in the Dokki area.
Brigadier General Hani Shaarawy, head of investigations in the North Giza sector, developed a precise plan to besiege the accused in the places he frequents. A security force headed by Lieutenant Colonel Amr Farouk, head of Dokki investigations, succeeded in arresting him. Confronting him, he acknowledged the sentences issued against him.
Investigations added that the accused is a fugitive from about 200 court rulings amounting to more than 500 years imprisonment in fraud cases.
Recently, the clients of the “Build Your House with Your Hands” project attacked the young businessman Mahmoud Abdel Shafi, the owner of the initiative, accusing him of defrauding them of an amount of 2 billion pounds from various governorates, in projects that have not yet been delivered.
Clients said that they had lost the “naughty” of their lives because they were subjected to fraud, according to what they described as Mahmoud Abdel-Shafi, describing him as a comfortable New Cairo, with taking legal measures with reports to the Public Prosecutor and the Public Funds Investigation.
The customers confirmed that the branches of the “Build Your House with Your Own Hands” company were closed and those responsible for it disappeared, and that they were unable to reach any official, which prompted them to submit official reports to the responsible authorities in the state to obtain their dues, which exceed 2 billion pounds and 500 million pounds.
