The launch of the organization of regional exhibitions of traditional industry in the Souss-Massa region was given.
The organizers’ statement said that, within the framework of the partnership agreement concluded between the Wilaya of the Souss-Massa region, the Souss-Massa region, the Souss-Massa Chamber of Traditional Industry, and the Regional Directorate of Traditional Industry, Social Economy and Solidarity in Agadir, relating to the organization of regional exhibitions of traditional industry in the Souss-Massa region, these partners announced to the general public the launch of the organization of regional exhibitions of traditional industry according to the following program:
The regional exhibition of traditional industry in Tata during the second half of December 2024 at Al-Alawyin Square in the city of Tata.
The regional exhibition of traditional industry of Agadir Ida Outanan during the first half of January 2025 at Al Wahda Square in the city of Agadir.
Traditional craftsmen and women representing the provinces and regions of the region will participate in these exhibitions, in addition to the participation of some traditional industry chambers at the national level as guests of honor.
According to the statement, a copy of which was received by Agadir 24, these events aim to contribute to the promotion and introduction of traditional industry products in the region, and to create spaces for marketing these products in order to improve the income of craftsmen and improve their social conditions, especially in the rural world.
These events also aim to provide suitable spaces for traditional craftsmen and women to market their products. They also represent a good opportunity for them to showcase their skills, introduce their creativity, discover new customers and enable them to open up to the crafts of this sector. They are also stations for exchanging expertise and experiences between exhibiting craftsmen, as well as to double the opportunities for marketing traditional industry products that abound in the regions of the region.
These exhibitions will see the participation of about 60 traditional craftsmen and women in each exhibition, distributed among the following crafts: leather – traditional sewing – pottery – artistic carpentry – wood engraving – carpet weaving – silversmithing – plant products – artistic blacksmithing – artistic and decorative artifacts, in addition to allocating halls for local products within the framework of supporting the social and solidarity economy pole.
The first day of these exhibitions is expected to witness the opening ceremonies, during which some of the activities working in the traditional industry sector will be honored in recognition of their contributions and continuous efforts to advance this sector.
These exhibitions will conclude with the distribution of certificates of appreciation and certificates of participation to the craftsmen and women, and an award for the best hall and the best product.
