The number of confirmed cases has exceeded 1.85 million, and it has exceeded the 100,000 mark for two consecutive days. The South Korean government announced yesterday (18) to adjust the epidemic prevention measures, relax the restrictions on the business hours of public places, and also cancel the joint system policy.
According to the Yonhap News Agency, South Korea’s Central Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters announced today that 102,211 new cases of new coronary pneumonia were diagnosed in the country, exceeding 100,000 cases for two consecutive days. Although the number of new cases in a single day decreased by 7,620 from the previous day, compared with the previous week, it increased by 1.9 times. The epidemic prevention department expects that the number of confirmed cases will continue to rise and peak at the end of February or early March. As for the daily increase in cases, the authorities predict that the number of cases may reach 130,000 on the 23rd, and may even reach 180,000 on March 2.
However, South Korean Prime Minister Jin Fuqian said yesterday that the current epidemic trend in South Korea is similar to that of other countries, and following the end of February and early March, there is an opportunity to return to the previous social mode. Jin Fuqian also announced the adjustment of anti-epidemic measures. From today onwards, the joint system policy will be cancelled, the business hours of public places will be relaxed from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and the limit on the number of people in private gatherings will remain at 6 people. The anti-epidemic measures will continue until March 13. .
