The 24-year-old is not in Germany’s World Cup squad. The German international tore her cruciate ligament last year.

She’s fit once more now. At the World Cup, however, she “only” works for ZDF as an expert.

The World Cup in New Zealand and Australia is coming up.

Giulia Gwinn didn’t make it into Germany’s squad.

The 24-year-old had an offer from “Playboy” for this.

For the women’s world championship it wasn’t enough for Giulia Gwinn (33 internationals, three goals) this year. The German international tore her cruciate ligament last year. Although the Bayern player is now fit once more, ex-Nati trainer Martina Voss-Tecklenburg does without Gwinn. The 24-year-old is a World Cup expert at ZDF.

Now it is known that the German has rejected an offer from “Playboy”. He wanted to win the footballer for a nude photo shoot. “I respect the ‘Playboy’ as a journalistic product, but then I prefer to present myself as a footballer on the pitch,” Gwinn told DPA. First, “Bild” reported on the interest of the magazine.

The Vice European Champion also says: “In general, I believe and hope that we have much more exciting and important topics to discuss, especially in the run-up to what will definitely be a great World Cup.”

Martina Voss-Tecklenburg also once had an offer

Florian Boitin, editor-in-chief of the German edition of “Playboy”, explains why the newspaper wanted to portray the 24-year-old: “Women’s football has long since ceased to be a fringe sport, but has arrived in the middle of society. What’s more, according to a recent survey commissioned by the German ‘Playboy’, the women’s national team is significantly more popular than its male counterparts.” Women like Giulia Gwinn are symbols of the success and popularity of German kickers.

Interesting: According to Voss-Tecklenburg, she once had an offer from “Playboy” as a player in 1989. She told the “Bild” that she would have received 15,000 marks (regarding 7,500 francs) for it. “I would have had no problem with being photographed like that. But I had been through some tumultuous events with my parents before that. Then I didn’t want to subject them to the ‘Playboy’ theme as well,” said the 55-year-old.
