Gitte escaped from Jammerbugt Municipality – now she is happy

– It has been hard, but it has been positive.

The words come from Gitte Rold Kristensen, as she sits in her new apartment in Aalborg.

She lives here with her son.

A son who has great difficulties in everyday life.

He suffers from infantile autism, ADHD with emotional attachment disorder and sleep disorder, incontinence, sensorimotor challenges, overview difficulties, the hearing disorder APD and he has gone through puberty too early.

All of which mean that Gitte, as a single mother, both needs and has the right to help from the public. It can, for example, cover additional expenses or lost earnings.

But that help was difficult to get from Jammerbugt Municipality, where they lived before. Despite the son’s many ailments, the municipality did not think it was a long-term chronic illness.

The Board of Appeal ended up giving Gitte the right in that discussion.

But following several years of struggle, in which a number of cases had to go through the Appeals Board, Gitte had enough. The level of conflict with the municipality was far, far too high.
