Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), invites you to experience “SPACE JOURNEY BANGKOK”, the world-class space exhibition held for the first time in Asia, in collaboration with many relevant government and private agencies to create inspiration for the development of space technology in Thailand in the future, to be held from 16 December 2024 – 16 April 2025 at the BITEC Bangna Exhibition and Convention Center.
“Index Creative” joins hands with “Bhiraj Buri Group” to organize a press conference to open the world of learning and create inspiration for Thai youth and those interested in space with the world-class space exhibition that will be held in Thailand for the first time in Asia under the name “SPACE JOURNEY BANGKOK” or “Space Exhibition”. You will find 10 virtual exhibition rooms about the past, present, and future of space exploration, a collection room of real used spacecraft parts, and more than 600 rare models from the United States, the Soviet Union, and others displayed in various formats. Watch a 3D movie, an interactive universe zone, including a gyroscope, and of course, the development of space exploration from the beginning to the present and future plans. This will provide knowledge and understanding about the past, present, and future of space exploration.
Interesting highlights of this exhibition
– Original components of the Saturn V space shuttle F1 engine, salvaged from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean by Amazon’s Jeff Besos, are of high quality. You can see that the material itself can still hold its shape well even in the low temperatures of the ocean or through the high temperatures near its melting point.
– The original control panel from the Houston Mission Command Center, which engineers used to communicate with astronauts on the Apollo and early shuttle missions. And interestingly, there is a paper with the flight path calculations that the engineers had hand-calculated next to it.
– 1:1 replica of the Apollo Control Module. This model is equipped with state-of-the-art control equipment throughout the flight, which required the astronauts to share space with the cramped space they had to live in, such as pieces of lunar rock.
– Model of the Mars rover, the hardest working robot outside of Earth, originally planned to work for 90 days but ended up working for 5,498 days.
– A model of the lunar rover that saved astronauts from having to walk on the Apollo 15, 16 and 17 missions.
– Russia’s Lunokhod lunar rover was sent to replace humans on the Lunar lander, controlled by ground control.
– Collection of meteorites, including rocks from Mars, unique collectibles worth more per gram than gold.
This exhibition will be held from 16 December 2024 – 16 April 2025 (4 months long) at Event Space 98, BITEC Bangna (BITEC Bangna Exhibition and Convention Center).
